Have a baby.
This is always an exciting adventure for our clients and one that we love being involved in. Our first piece of advice is to get some maternity insurance. Getting maternity insurance with no waiting period is not available to foreigners living in Singapore. If you are entertaining the thought of having a family, check your expat health cover and make sure there is benefit for pregnancy insurance in Singapore. Let our team know if you need any help with this.
Get on top of your life admin.
Do your taxes on time. Tidy up your bank accounts. Save more money and get some life insurance. Term life insurance policies in Singapore are transportable anywhere in the world and are very affordable. This means that if you start paying here and then you leave Singapore, you will continue to pay the same amount and be protected by your policy in your new home. Our life insurance team will answer any questions that you have.
Pop the Question.
If you are going to be getting down on one knee, you will likely need some engagement ring insurance. This is a separate add on piece of insurance that you get in addition to an existing home and contents policy that you must buy through Expat Insurance. It’s great because it then means that everything is covered – especially that new diamond! Let us know if you want to find out more. If it is a surprise, we are very discreet, and we promise we won’t tell…
This is always on the bucket list and a good way to start is by getting a health check. This is a thorough health assessment that is done by your GP and it should be done every twelve months. Your doctor will take your weight, height and blood pressure. They will also ask you a series of questions and do some blood tests. These tests will measure your cholesterol, your renal and liver function as well as some hormone tests. Health screenings give you a good baseline to work from and can be useful in picking up any abnormalities or changes to your overall health. Check your expat medical insurance to see if you can access health screenings as part of your healthcare benefit.
Tick off a bucket list destination.
One of the best things about living in Singapore is the access to all of the amazing travel destinations! We travel a lot living here, so we advise that you look at getting an annual travel insurance policy.
